Debra Brzozowy
Artistic Director/Instructor/Choreographer

Debbie has been performing on stage since the age of 8 in various dance concerts and musical productions throughout R.I. and Mass. Her early training was modern dance, with the George J. West Dance Troupe in Providence where she had the opportunity to study with Ellen Berger, Clay Taliafarro, the late Fannie Melcer and the Alvin Ailey Dance Troupe. For the past four years, Debbie is a member of the Seekonk Shadowbox Players of Seekonk, Ma., and has performed in their productions of An Interpretation of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wizard of Oz, and The S.S. Gigantic. She also regularly performs there as a sacred dancer for special church services.
Debbie has taught jazz classes at various studios throughout Rhode Island over the past 30 years to both children and adults, and in 1994, established the Studio 34 Dance Company for adult students.
She serves as Artistic Director, Instructor, dancer and a choreographer.

Gina Carbone-Instructor/Choreographer
Gina has been dancing since the age of 3, taking a wide variety of classes, including ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance. Her teaching experiences range from instructing children in ballet, jazz and tap, to teaching adults jazz, lyrical and aerobic classes. She has performed in numerous dance recitals and local benefits. She choreographed the aerobic fitness dance production for the R.I. Jr. Miss Scholarship program in both 1997 and 1998. In the summer of 2000, she performed in Bristol Theatre Company’s production of Evita. For the past 3 years she has performed as a shadow dancer for An Interpretation of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Seekonk Congregational Church, with the Seekonk Shadowbox Players of Seekonk, Ma.
Gina is a third grade teacher. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from ProvidenceCollege. Gina presently teaches jazz, lyrical and aerobic classes to adults at Studio 34.

Karen Kaplan-Instructor/Choreographer
Karen received her early training from Herci & Myles Marsden at Brae Crest School of Ballet in Lincoln, RI. She danced with the State Ballet of RI for six years. While completing a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition at the University of RI, she danced with the U.R.I. Dance Co. She has since performed with the Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio, and most recently, with Studio 34 Dance Company. For the past 3 years she has performed as a shadow dancer for An Interpretation of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Seekonk Congregational Church, with the Seekonk Shadowbox Players of Seekonk, Ma. In addition to teaching ballet at Studio 34, Karen has completed a Master’s degree in Historic Costume & Textiles from the University of RI. Karen currently teaches in the Fashion Design and Merchandising Department at Bay State College in Boston, MA.

Germaine Olear-
Instructor/Choreographer
Germaine Olear is one of the original members of Studio 34 Dance Company. She has performed with the company as both a dancer and vocalist and has choreographed and taught tap from 1994 to 1999. Germaine has also been involved with Rosemary's School of Dance Education in Warren since 1990 where she serves in many capacities including substitute teacher, performance coach, seamstress and stage manager. She also makes an occasional on-stage appearance with the adult tap and jazz classes. She has performed and choreographed for several local theater companies and high school drama clubs including Bristol Theatre Company, The Players in Providence and Barrington and East Providence high schools. Germaine also produced the R.I. Junior Miss Scholarship Program for several years.
